Set up groups
Groups organize your roster. They form a tree (up to five levels deep), so you can nest groups under one another — for example grades under a school, or cabins under a session at camp.
- Each group has a name and an auto-assigned Group ID (GID).
- Schools are pre-filled with grade groups (Pre‑K through 12th Grade).
- Camps and daycares start with a single top-level group; build the structure that matches how your site runs (sessions, cabins, rooms, age bands).
Go to Groups to manage them.
Create a group manually
Section titled “Create a group manually”- Go to Groups.
- Select Add group.
- Choose a Parent group (leave it at the top level to add a top-level group).
- Enter the name (for example, “Bunk A” or “Room 3”).
- Save.
Use Add child on any group to nest a new group beneath it. Use Edit to rename a group and Delete (or select several and Delete selected) to remove groups you no longer need.
Generate school grades (schools only)
Section titled “Generate school grades (schools only)”Schools can create a whole range of grade groups at once.
- On the Groups page, select Generate grades.
- Choose the Parent group the grades should sit under.
- Pick a Start grade and End grade (from Pre‑K through 12th Grade).
- Generate.
Grades that already exist under that parent are skipped, so it is safe to run again to extend a range.
Import many groups at once
Section titled “Import many groups at once”To build a large or nested structure quickly, import groups from a CSV.
